The European Phenolic Resins Association (EPRA), reports yet another successful year for its members with volumes up by 4,6% in 2016. Dynamic growth has been achieved especially in the construction sector but also the industrial and insulation business showed above average growth. The outlook for the current year is again positive, also because the industry has been and continues to be committed to new product developments, which allow customers to steadily improve their application profiles and properties with Phenolic Resins.
As Arno Knebelkamp (Prefere Resins), who took over the Chairmanship for EPRA at the General Assembly meeting in Berlin from Michel Meuwissen (Sumitomo Bakelite) pointed out: “It is both, veryexciting and also rewarding to see that Phenolic Resins – being around since more than a century now – are still unique materials to get properly modified, formulated and applied for a wide range of applications meeting ever increasing customer and regulatory requirements.
The Phenolic Resins Industry’s commitment to continuously invest in resin development is nicely reflected in the growth that was achieved in 2016. There is no doubt that we will continue to grow with our customers in the years to come”.
All EPRA members will further support a sustainableview on Phenolic Resin technologies and its positive impacts on major industrial applications.
