Further to the notice provided last week in Chemical Watch concerning unmodified phenolic resins which referenced parallel work on modified phenolic resins, the EPRA REACH Steering Group is pleased to confirm that it has now set a date for an Open Meeting to discuss REACH registration needs for this group of substances and the possible need for appropriate consortia to manage these processes. This meeting will take place on Monday 13th October 2008 in Amsterdam.
Chemistries being considered at this meeting will include phenolic resins involving cresol, resorcinol, bisphenol-A, furfuryl alcohol, cashew nutshell liquid (CNSL), melamine, 1-butanol, tannin, urea, alkyl phenols and methanol.
